About the author

Charris Publishing has been set up to facilitate books written by author Craig Harris.

Craig grew up in regional South Australia and spent happy childhood holidays at Coffin Bay where he learned to love and respect the maritime environment.

His long career in dairy and mining industries, principally in the outback, allowed him to cement his understanding of weather and remote locations.  Craig’s recent retirement has provided time to research important historical aspects of his writing.

His first book, Blue Water Warriors, is a historical look at the early to Sydney to Hobart yacht race, Australia’s greatest ocean race. The book follows Marsden Hordern who was the navigator on the yacht Mistral ll.

His work has been praised by one of Australia’s yachting doyens – John Bertrand. He was amazed at the lack of safety awareness the early sailors of Sydney to Hobart yacht race had.

Craig is currently authoring a series of future books that will feature Soviet espionage within the United States.  The fiction books, based on fact, are set during the start of the cold war and the space race. The first book, The Genius of Illusions, is anticipated to be published in mid-2019.
